| Where
Is Heaven?
Where is Heaven? Is it in the sky?
Is it in the present or the bye and bye?
Do we know for sure that it’s there at all?
Does it have a winter, spring, summer, fall?
Do
we follow the Leader – do as we’re told?
Is it true that the streets are paved with gold?
Will we see forever or just stand and stare?
Will all those we loved join us there?
Is
there a throne to sit and a place to lie?
Will we always smile or can we sometimes cry?
Are there passing days and fleeting nights?
Are there beautiful vistas and small delights?
Will
we come and go or simply stay?
Will there be still be sunsets to end the day?
Will flowers bloom and bluebirds sing?
Will a bride get to keep her diamond ring?
What
about strangers we meet in that place?
Are we to be separate on account of our race?
Will we all become one and the same,
Or will diversity still be the game?
What
will we do and where will we go?
Will it be possible to enjoy the snow?
What of our pasts, our memories, our pets?
Will they be there or will we forget?
What
songs will we sing or books will we read?
Who all will follow and who all will lead?
Will new life still spring from the source of the seed?
Will we be given everything that we need?
Where
is Heaven? Is it in the sky?
Will I only know the day that I die?
Can I see it through trees and a slab of stone?
Will a beautiful picture give me a hint of my home?
